Baltimore Beer Week begins on Friday, and more....

The ten day celebration of all things beer in Baltimore begins
this Friday, October 19.

The opening tap celebration-which was nearly a full-fledged beer
festival in itself in 2011-returns to the same Power Plant Live
location. The event from from 6 to 9 pm, and includes all beer
samples and appetizers, as well as live music.

There are events and after parties all over the city, but the closest
is by far at Leinenkugel's Beer Garden, just steps away. It will run
from 9 pm to 1 am. Details here.

The Point in Fell's Point is having an Evolution Brewery Keep the 
Pint Night from 7 pm to close. Hudson Street Stackhouse in
Canton is doing a "Tri-state takeover" with 12 beers each on tap
from Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania, the entire weekend.

Saturday, things ramp up quickly, with one of the premier, anchor
events of BBW. The Chesapeake Real Ale Festival, featuring more
than 40 cask-conditioned beers from 20 breweries, starts with a VIP
session at noon and begins at 1 pm for the regular session.

Once the fest is over, head on over to Of Love & Regret ,the new
Stillwater Artisanal bar/restaurant in Canton,  for a roast of Casey
Hard, the man behind the numerous beer events and festivals at
Max's Taphouse in Fell's Point. The roast will be on the second
floor at Of Love & Regret, beginning at 7 pm.

Artisanal Ales at Of Love & Regret

Don't stay up too late, as there is another very worthy event at 10 am
Sunday morning. Stillwater Day at Max's Taphouse will feature a
sale of very-rare special bottled beers from gypsy brewer Brian
Strumke at opening time, and then a large collection of his brews
will be available on draft until 6 pm. Brian will be on hand.
